I've been collecting a rich array of reference images, articles, books, and documentaries to guide my art creation process. I explored the origins and migration of the Yoruba people, their early kingdoms, and their leadership structures. Along the way, I developed a deep fascination with Benin Bronzes, tribal markings, and traditional ornaments, all of which I hope to showcase.
On the technical side, I've completed two of the three AI art courses and plan to finish the last one this coming week. I've also designed a few monogram logos for the project's website, but I haven't settled on one yet. I'd love to hear which you prefer!

Next Steps
The plan for the upcoming week is to finish the final course, explore different AI models, and finally begin experimenting with prompts in Midjourney. My research will focus on the colonial period and the Yoruba Diaspora. I also need to finalise the website logo and set up the server.
Learnings & Challenges
- What I've Learned: I was amazed to discover that the Yoruba civil war is one of the longest in recorded history, lasting over 15 years. I've also been exploring the works of acclaimed artists, such as Kehinde Wiley and Yinka Shonibare, to inspire my visual style.
- The Challenges: Time management is becoming a real challenge. I am still struggling to balance work, family, and this passion project.
